BRINGING BACK VALUES
I am running for District 833 school board because I would like to see transparency not just fiscally but within the curriculum as well. I would also like to see the curriculum more focused on the basics: reading, writing, math, science, and history, rather than what is politically popular that year.
Family is the most important thing in my life. My wife Donna and I have been married for 22 years and have two sons and four grandchildren.
I have owned and managed Aesop's Table -- a deli & catering company located in St. Paul, MN -- for over 20 years. The business prides itself in combining the best quality food with the friendliest service you can find.
I have been on the Newport Planning Commission for the last 10 years and have served as chair. I also helped start and was the president of a non-profit organization that raised money for juvenile diabetes. I was on the board of three other non-profits and the president of one. I have excellent leadership skills and can work with anyone.
The single most pressing issue facing MN School District District 833 is transparency!
I will focus on what the parents say and want for curriculum. I will listen to the needs of the community and not just blindly follow what the superintendent wants. I will work closely with parent organizations so they can get the word out as to what the board is up to and the issues facing our district. I will not just follow the superintendent blindly or just do what a politician says. I will question anyone that wants to take away our rights under the pretense that it is for the greater good.
